Calibrate your laser printer

Why?

Your laser printer is not perfect. If you print a big 8“ x 10” rectangle and measure it on the paper, it will not exactly be 8×10. Most of the time it doesn't matter. But if you are printing a drilling guide for mounting holes, or if you are printing a pcb layout that have long footprint (like a slider), then your part won't fit.

Someone sent me a .stl files that Cura doesn't like. Here is an easy way to fix the file.

	* Go to <https://stephaneginier.com/sculptgl/>
	* Scene > Clear scene
	* File > add (upload your .stl)
	* In the right menu bar, under Voxel Remeshing, push it to 400 (the bigger the number, the better the quality, the heavier the file).

Installing Linux Mint

Why?

Choosing Linux is encouraging a vision where consumers are not forced or trapped. It has a price though: there will be some well known softwares you won't be able to install. It is getting better nowadays, and, one of the ways to encourage companies to make Linux compatible software is by making it part of your workflow. The more people run it, the more developpers will consider making linux versions for their softwares.

No matter the software or the post processor you use when you do an autoleveling (heightmap) process in bCNC, the software will modify your g-code. This is not a problem for lines but for arcs and circles it will decompose your curves into small segments so it can interpolate and adapt the height of the cutter to your surface. Even if this can be ok for small circles, it may change the shape of your piece in an undesired way. If you don't want this you have to…

Welcome to the Eastern Bloc Lab wiki!

This wiki is intended to be a place where the lab members share their knowledge, tips, or useful links.

The Eastern Bloc Lab is a wonderful place where the members can learn by themselves through exchanges and experimentation. Thanks to the wiki, we can now have a place to document projects, and can redirect curious lab members to articles writen by other lab members.

I noticed a small error on the schematic diagram. It has C9 - pin 9 on the delay chip - as 9100nF. Looking at the overlay and photo here it appears that the extra 9 is a typo, it should probably be 100nF.
